Lottery winnings are income-tax free on distribution
In France and several participating European jurisdictions, lottery payouts are not treated as ordinary income. The €20,000 monthly annuity is paid in full without income tax deduction.
Taxes apply to returns on investments
While the prize instalments themselves are exempt, any returns generated by investing or depositing the funds are subject to regular local capital taxation.
