An annuity, not a jackpot
Unlike most lotteries, EuroDreams does not pay a lump sum in tier 1. The winner receives an annuity of €20,000 a month for thirty years, i.e. €7.2 million in total.
That changes the nature of the win: instead of a single sum to manage, the winner receives a regular income. It also lets the operator advertise an attractive figure while spreading the cost of the prize over time.
The three-winner cap
Tier 1 is limited to three winning lines per draw, across all participating countries. If more players match the combination, the €21.6m corresponding to the three annuities is shared between them and paid out in one go.
In practice, a winning combination held on four lines gives each of them €5.4m in capital rather than a monthly income.
Tier 2: €2,000 a month for five years
Tier 2 works the same way with smaller amounts: €2,000 a month for five years, i.e. €120,000 in total, for six correct numbers without the correct N°Dream.
